Italian Pipes

Im Irish/Italian and my fiancee is French/English/German. Does anyone know of any cultural wedding traditions?

I'm Irish/Italian and my fiancee is French/English/German. We are both Catholics who are very involved with both our faith and our culture. Does anyone know of any cool wedding traditions or superstitions from our cultures or religion? So far we're just having bag pipes play as she walks down the aisle. Thanks.

  1. EVER watch the Travel Channel?
  2. i don't, but shouldn't your respective families be bombarding you with ideas? Mom's, Grandma's, God love'em...they have tons of ideas usually. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
  3. I'm from an Irish family. My mom bought me a small porcelain horseshoe (found it at a flea market) The idea is that the bride carries the horse shoe around her bouquet as she walks down the aisle. (It's pointed down) After the wedding, you put it over your front door facing up to bring you good luck. Also to have the bride put a penny in her shoe is supposed to bring you good luck. I did that and the penny my sister in law picked up just happened to be my birth year-thought that was cool. Good luck!
