Does smoking water pipes seariously affects your health ?

I know that smoking regular cigars affects your health in a very bad way , leading to TBC or cancer ( if u are a serious smoker ) . I smoked a water pipe once and i want to know if water pipes have similar effects to regular cigars , and if smoking water pipes with regularity can lead to some of the effects written above .

2. Smoking is destructive. Period ! but .... Once a week... one waterpipe with a very good quality tobacco can be a pleasure...
3. Cancer is induced (amongst other things) by residue left over from inhaling smoke. In this regards it matters not if you use a cigar or water pipe. If anything, a water pipe, assuming to be designed for such, could help reduce direct second-hand smoke from the device - but would not be able to account for the smoke you yourself exhale. Also, water pipes can be a cooling and concentrative element - hence allowing more smoke to be inhaled. So... yeah... it probably is even worse than cigars, assuming the same tobacco is concerned.
