Can I make speaker stands out of iron pipe? I am planning to make stands for my bookshelf speakers. I have some ms pipes of round 3" diameter. I plan to weld metal bases to these pipes (after filling them with sand of course) and screw wooden shelves to these bases.Would such a stand work or the magnetic material of the pipe interfere with the speaker magnet.(they are supposed to be magnetically shielded Wharfedale diamond 9.1)
What happen to the pipe water in Trinbago? Did something happen to d water so now we ha to BUY bottle water? I usta drink from house pipe, stand pipe, and hose. So what went wrong that everybody house pack with case ah water?
I was wondering approximately how much is it to repair a stand pipe? The pipe that connects to the medal round plate on the bathtub fell down behind my tub when i took off the round plate. A friend of mine told me a plumber would just have to cut a hole underneath my kitchen sink to get to that pipe. I'm worried it is going to cost me a pretty penny. Does anyone know maybe how much a plumber would charge for this?
How can I cut PVC pipe (that does NOT have the factory ends) level / square so it can stand up straight? I have a large scrap PVC pipe (just over 9" outside diameter, 6' long, 3/4" thick walls) and it does NOT have the factory cuts on the end, so the ends aren't level. If I stand the pipe up on a concrete floor, it will fall down because the ends are crooked. How can I make a straight level cut so it will stand up on both ends at near perfect levelness? Basically, I need to reproduce the square factory cuts @ home. The only method I can think of is to wrap duct tape around it once and overlap it a bit. When the ends of duct tape match up evenly, I'll use a marker & the edge of the duct tape like a ruler and mark around the pipe. Remove the tape, then cut w/ a jig saw on the line I just created. Any other ideas? Other misc. questions: a. What kind of jig saw blade should I use? b. Any other recommendations besides duct tape to wrap around the pipe? Thank you!
How much drop needed in a toilet sewer pipe? I am building a 1/2 bath on the first floor of my home. The vertical stand pipe is about 14' away ... how much drop is needed for the sewer pipe from the toilet for it to work properly?
Can I get an extention for waste pipe outlet on a washing machine? I bought a new washing machine. All my connections are under the sink. My pipes wont reach, Though I have safely extended the inlet pipe which was easey I still need to extend the waste and as of yet i Have no idea How. I dont have a stand pipe but a connection under the sink. Does anyone out there no How to extend a waste pipe hose from a washing machine? Apparently you cant change hoses off modern washing machines anymore.
How can I get a jointed 7 foot tall PCV pipe to stand up right? Any ideas? IT is for a 3d Design project, and its either beyond my skills or scrap able . I am trying to make a hat hanger type of structure. I am not used to building things , and I think I need to try another idea. This one doesn't seem to be going as well as I had hoped. Rod S this is what I came up with I suppose I will post pictures of it when I give you best answer. Although you had in a few new ideas.
I need to find the water pressure in this pipe? I have a pipe standing vertically Inside diameter: 100mm height = 25m Density of water = 1000kg/m^2 Gravity = 9.81m/s^2 How do I find the pressure in Pa? I've got a few equations down, but they all seem to come up far below what I think they should be ... as in less than 0 Help?
What is a stand easy pipe? I found a wooden pipe at a local market recently and bought it as I thought it was kind of cool. When I got it home I had a look at it and it had Stand Easy, made in France & 1 carved into the bottom. It is a chunky thing and as I have no idea what I am looking at I was wondering if anyone can tell me what I've bought.
Is my neighbor allowed to drain his property onto mine using laid pvc pipe? My neighbor and I live in a very FLAT area. (Drainage after rains is virtually non existent -- both properties have pools of water in various spots in our yards after a storm.) Now, on my property there is a shallow drainage depression that is on my property which runs parallel his property. He recenty installed / laid and buried PVC pipe so as to divert standing water in the middle of his yard over to the property line of his yard and mine. The angle / elevation of the buried PVC pipe is such that when it gets to the property line it is too deep in the ground to naturally flow into the shallow drainage that runs parallel to his property. Is he allowed to come into my yard and scoop out a short "trench" to allow the water not to back up onto his property? I'm in Tennessee -- Shelby County -- not in the city limits. Is it a french drain? No, They have an area next to their driveway that collects water..from rain or from washing their car. Does the PVC have holes in it to allow water to soak into the ground around it or is it a solid PVC pipe running to your yard? It is solid. Is there an outlet to the pipe? The pipe runs to within a foot of my property - but neighbor had to dig a trench into my yard so that the water doesn't back up. (that is mainly due to the pipe needing to be sloped away from its starting point so water will flow through pipe.) By the time it gets to his property line he is too far down to permit the natural flow of water to take it into my yard...so he dug a small trench into my yard to get to a lower area.
How do I replace an existing toilet that is plumbed into clay sewer pipe (female end) ? The toilet I want to replace is plumbed into a clay sewer pipe that has the female end standing proud of the floor. I have a new caroma toilet with shroud (will not fit over clay pipe flange). I know of the pan collars in plastic (iplex) but have only ever seen them plumbed into plastic pipe (100DWV). Do I chip the flange down to floor level and then silicone a pan collar in?
Does a pipe need to be full of water to burst if it freezes? I have a pipe that I installed that runs from my upstairs toilet to the sewer. It is behind the insulation, and thus it will be getting very cold when winter comes. Since water will only be going through it when I flush the toilet, I was wondering if the pipe could burst if it freezes. Does the pipe need to be completely full of standing water to burst, or only has trace amounts of water left in it from flushing, will it burst? Thanks.
Can i wash my dog using the hose pipe? I usually bath my dog in the bath but he is scratching it. Can I wash him using the hose pipe in my garden or is that cruel? Can they stand cold water if I were to bring him straight in afterwards and blow dry him? He is a chunky labrador, not a skinny little dog.
How can I calculate the volume of 3/4" pipe? I'd like to figure out the liquid capacity of my hot water pipes so I can determine how much standing water there is in the system before it gets pushed out by new hot water. How can I figure out how much per foot the pipe holds?
If the temperature in an organ pipe increases above room temperature, thereby increasing the speed of sound wa If the temperature in an organ pipe increases above room temperature, thereby increasing the speed of sound waves in the pipe but not affecting the length of pipe significantly, what effect does this have on the frequency of the standing waves produced by this pipe? Increasing the temperature of air in an organ pipe will decrease the frequency of standing waves. Increasing the temperature of air in an organ pipe will increase the frequency of standing waves. Increasing the temperature of air in an organ pipe have no effect on the frequency of standing waves because the wavelength is constant. CHOOSE ONE.
Using CPVC cement on PVC pipe? I'm building a bike stand out of PVC pipe and I'm using CPVC cement... I've heard that you can use CPVC cement on both CPVC and PVC (since CPVC is harder to melt), but not PVC cement on CPVC pipe. Ideas? Also, the CPVC cement I have is the "Oatey" orange kind. (i.e medium strength)
Frequency when one of the pipe is closed? QUESTION 21*** An organ pipe is initially open at both ends. The fundamental frequency of the standing sound wave is 100 Hz. Now one end of the pipe is closed. What is the frequency of the first harmonic? (a) 100 Hz (b) 150 Hz (c) 200 Hz The correct answer is 150. Can someone explain?
How safe is it to explore a pipe? Ok my friend and I plan to explore a pipe that we found. It's big enough for us to stand in. do you think this is a really bad idea or not? Well Lan I think you're are W'anker who doesn't actually know anything so your opinion is void Edit *Ian, your waste of a name is Ian
Which is the best photography backdrop stand? PVC pipe or steel pipe? I'm a starter in photography. I just bought two muslin backdrops in black and white with 9 foot width. Now I'm wondering what material of backdrop stand will support them? I know some people like PVC pipe and some would prefer steel ones. But I really don't know what differences between the two kinds of material. I really want your ideas. Thanks a billion.
Calculate the length of the organ pipe (related to standing waves)? A friend in another city tells you that she has two organ pipes of different lengths, one open at both ends, the other open at one end only. In addition, she has determined that the beat frequency caused by the second-lowest frequency of each pipe is equal to the beat frequency caused by the third-lowest frequency of each pipe. Her challenge to you is to calculate the length of the organ pipe that is open at both ends, given that length of the other pipe is 1.00 m. I know for standing waves in a column of air closed at one end, the frequency f_1 = v/(4L), where L is the length of the pipe. For standing waves in a column of air open at both ends, f_1 = v/(2L). What can I make use of these facts?
how do i clean a suspected blockage in the petrol pipe between the tank and the carb? removed tank following suspected fuel starvation. old car 1972 imp, recently bought and fuelled up by previous owner. fuel guage sender unit siezed so suspect car standing for some time. have rodded the fuel line with grass strimmer plastic wire and found a solid obstruction (or something) 40 cm from tank. cannot blow air through the line in either direction. i have not got a compressor.
Would standard Silicon Hose withstand being used as a diesel filler pipe? I need a 45* bend in a hose, as short as possible, 60mm inside diamiter,to connect a diesel filler neck and tank. Would a standard silicon hose (as used in motorsport) stand up to this, or would it degrade quickly? As a filler neck, it would only be immersed in diesel temporarily whilst filling up, and not constantly submerged. The exposed ends would not be in contact with the diesel, just the inside walls.
